Announcement of the Establishment of the
W. Russell Rylko
May 18, 1948 – May 9, 2013
Memorial Award

The Board of Directors of Mystic Valley Railway Society has recently decided that the accomplishments of W. Russell Rylko, the Society’s founding president and his direct impact on its success over a forty three (43) year period, be recognized.

This recognition will be in the form of the awarding of grant(s) to nonprofit, tax exempt organizations within New England that preserve and restore historically significant railroad and traction equipment, structures or information.

As we know, Russ had no greater passion than his love of railroading and it is altogether fitting and proper that his legacy be remembered.

The award will be the subject of a detailed application and screening process which is currently under development. As the planning continues, additional information will be included here and in The Waybill.
